Hillary Clinton Posts Question to Yahoo! Answers January 26, 2007

Posted by Todd Zeigler in Politics, Web 2.0

Following in the footsteps of the likes of Bono and as part of her "conversational" Presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton posted a question to Yahoo! Answers two days ago.  I'm not a big fan of Yahoo! Answers, but this seems like a pretty good idea.

Here's her question: "Based on your own family's experience, what do you think we should do to improve health care in America?"

So far she's got 35,407 "answers" from the Yahoo! Answers community.  As a sidenote, I pity the campaign staffer who will be assigned with reading all that stuff.

I wouldn't make too big of a deal out of this, but I think you have to give credit to her campaign for coming up with a nice, small idea.  If they can come up with another 100 or so small, online ideas like this over the next two years, they might be onto something…

I tend to agree with the point made in earlier posts http://www.bivingsreport.com/2.....ing-panel/ that online campaign activities at this stage in the process really only play to party activists and people who pay attention to politics on a regular basis. These people most likely already have a strongly held opinion about Clinton, not sure what she can achieve online. I think online activities are much more valuable to candidates who people don’t know yet.
