[...] Obama is doing very well on Facebook (thx Bivings Report) but running your own social network is much more complex than having a popular page on MySpace or a popular Facebook group. Mathew Ingram says their is a risk the social networks Obama and other candidates may build in the 2008 race could become Potemkin villages. There is also a good chance Obama’s staff will find themselves wasting time fighting off spammers and trolls that set up MyBarackObama profiles. [...]

[...] There is a LOT of stuff out there about Obama. BuzzMetrics should launch a Obamameter. Naw, that’s too mundane. How about an Obamaramameter? Now let me say that I like the guy. But talk about peaking too early. This candidate is begging for a flame out. Can you say “Howard Dean”? And if that happens, according to Todd Zeigler at the Bivings Report, Obama will likely blame it on you. Why? Because his campaign is all about “you.” Yes, that’s right, “you.” Not Obama. It is you. Are you a loser? Winner? Well, whatever you are it is the campaign and by extension it is all your fault. Obama’s getting a bit personal, no? He’s not befriending the media according to Politico. In his post-campaign inaugural interview Obama started lecturing the media about calling him a ‘lightweight’. Bad move. Makes Obama look like … a lightweight! (And I like the guy!!!). Then there’s an interesting comparison of Clinton and Obama’s online organizing strategy in Experience Curve. Could this be a sign of the future? Will today’s online strategies be as critiqued and reviewed as closely as traditional advertising was in the past? I say yes. [...]

[...] Todd Ziegler at the Bivings Report had used the word chaotic to describe the Edward’s site which I noted at the Blog the Campaign in 08 Blog. Todd added a comment and stated that Edward’s blog network was "wonderful" but needed some functionality improvements. I would agree. [...]

Obama's site looks nice. However, I think that the site has missed a few opportunities.

I've noticed that the Barack TV, In The News, and Press Releases sections all lack RSS feeds, and this feature would enhance people's ability to track action on the site. Further, I would like to see social bookmark icons at the bottom of each post on the main blog (I've created an account on the site; I'm not sure if those have such icons). This would help people spread the word about Obama.

Having said that, I'm still impressed.
